Victor Orlov was a Russian ex-patriot who had settled in London. The Russian government had requested his extradition on charges of fraud and bribery because it wanted to regain control of an oil company hed owned.
Olga Sukhova agreed to interview Orlov to identify the man involved in Grigori Bulganov's abduction. Olga was skillful and Orlov gave her a name, "Comrad Zhirlov," and another name of a person who might contact Zhirlov, Vladimir Chernov. Orlov later was pressured to give up his ownership of a major Russian oil company to convince the Russian government to intervene in Ivan Kharkov's plan to execute Gabriel and Chiara Zolli and Mikhail Abramov.
